SUMMER STEMS BROOCHES- PROJECT SHEET

Create a selection of summer themed botanical brooches which use a clever one wire brooch mechanism. These silhouettes look lovely as a brooch but you could also make matching earrings, pendants or even rings using the templates provided. This brooch mechanism is simple but versatile and so easy to create - you’ll want to use it on all your brooches and pins. 

TIPS
•    Be accurate with your piercing and shaping of the stems to achieve a crisp silhouette
•    Use a reasonably heavy gauge of sheet to make sure the brooch is sturdy and durable.
•    The final work hardening stage gives the brooch strength but work gently to not mar or distort your shape
 
To complete this project you will need:
 
MATERIALS
•    Copper, silver, brass or gold sheet minimum 0.8mm - 1.2mm thick.
•    1 - 1.2mm round silver wire

•    Piercing saw, bench peg and saw blades. 2/0 would be perfect
•    Soldering kit

•    400/600 and 800/1000/1200 grit emery papers
