POLLINATOR PENDANT - PROJECT SHEET

An articulated pollinator pendant with movable wings. You’ll learn how to accurately cut and shape your metal and use a rivet to secure the pieces together whilst allowing them some movement by adding a card spacer. You can combine different wing and body shapes but aim for symmetry. 

 

To complete this project you will need:

 

MATERIALS

Sheet metal in 0.5mm - 0.8mm: silver, gold, brass or copper would all be suitable.

1mm round wire, approx 30mm

 2 x small jump rings

Belcher chain, min 1.5mm links in your choice of length


TOOL KIT ESSENTIALS

Piercing saw, bench peg and saw blades. 2/0 would be perfect

Needle files - flat and half round or oval

Drill, centre punch and 1mm drill bit

Emery paper in 800 and 1000 grit

Flat nose, chain or rosary pliers and round nose pliers

Ball ended or repousse hammer

Cross pein riveting hammer

Soldering kit

Polish and finishing media
