Mitsuro Hikime Wax - 15th March
Mitsuro Hikime, is an ancient Japanese wax making technique that creates a truly unique type of wax. This pulled wax creates organic, textured forms with a beautiful wood-grain like surface. Learn to make your own stretchy and shapeable wax and how to use the tools and techniques required to work with this incredible material. You'll work with expert jeweller Laurie McCausland of Taken Twice Jewellery to explore and experiment with this incredible material and create a piece of unique organic jewellery. Your piece will be sent away to be cast into brass or you can choose to have your piece cast in sterling silver. An extra charge for multiple castings and silver castings will apply. You'll take home all the information you need to make your own mitsuro hikime wax at home and continue working in this beautiful medium in your own space.
