Suitable for makers with experience this six week, Wednesday evening, course in simple prong and claw setting will support you in adding set gemstones to your jewellery.

CLASS DESCRIPTION
Who is this class suitable for?
Intermediate to experienced makers. You must be able to saw, file, finish, solder and construct pieces independently and be familiar with all our workshop tools.
You will get the best out of this course if you have already completed our level one and two courses or equivalent.
What will I make?
You will make a range of practice and more finished settings. You'll make a round ring setting using a premade casting. You'll make a prong set pendant for an irregualr shaped stone and construct a small basket setting for an oval stone.
What will I learn?
You will learn how to set a stone into a claw setting, how to construct a prong setting for regular and irregular shaped stones, and how to make a simple basket setting.
What is included?
Practice wire in copper is included. Silver and stones are charged at cost or you are welcome to bring your own. A materials list can be provided at the start of the course.
