KNOT RING - PROJECT SHEET

A simple wire work trick creates an intricate looking ring with a knotted centre. Made in a thin round wire this ring is unusual but delicate and will test your forming and finishing skills.
 
To complete this project you will need:
 
MATERIALS
• Round wire in 1.5mm diameter. Silver, gold, copper or brass will work. You’ll need about 16cm - 20cm.

TOOL KIT ESSENTIALS
•    Ruler 
•    Scribe
•    Piercing saw, bench peg and saw blades. 3/0 or 2/0
•    Needle files -a small flat and a half round are essential. A barrette or knife edge and a round file are useful
•    Emery paper in 800 and 1000 grit
•    Soldering kit
•    Hide, plastic or wood hammer
•    Round nose pliers
•    Flat nose pliers
•    Half round pliers
•    Ring mandrel
•    Polish and finishing media of your choice
