BARE BRANCHES STACKING RINGS- PROJECT SHEET
Inspired by bare twigs and autumn leaves, make a set of stacking rings with a gentle organic beauty. You’ll refine your saw piercing skills, working on creating, refining and perfecting simple silhouettes
to make something special. Make as many rings as you like and choose how to stack them
To complete this project you will need:
MATERIALS
Sheet metal - silver, gold, brass or copper. 0.8mm - 1.2mm. All the rings in this stack are 8mm wide or less.
TOOL KIT ESSENTIALS• Ring sizer
• Ruler and scribe
• Piercing saw, bench peg and 2/0 blades
• Round nose and flat nose pliers
• Selection of needle files - square, triangular and half round
• Emery paper in 800 grit and 1200 grit or thereabouts.
• Flat faced file - needle or 6”
• Soldering kit
• Half round pliers
• Ring mandrel and soft mallet
• Finishing media of choice
